South Grove, Walthamstow - Proposals for new homes and new shops in Walthamstow town centre

South Grove Regeneration Walthamstow Ltd is bringing forward proposals to redevelop the Alpha Business Centre, Council-owned car park and other industrial land on South Grove in Walthamstow town centre.

In July 2012, we presented our emerging plans for new homes and shops on South Grove. Since then we have revised the plans to incorporate feedback from local people, stakeholders, the London Borough of Waltham Forest and the Greater London Authority.

The revised proposals will:

• Regenerate the largely disused South Grove site and deliver an investment of over £65 million into the town centre
  
• Create hundreds of new jobs for local people, including many with training and apprenticeship opportunities
  
• Provide much-needed new homes for local people, including affordable homes
  
• Improve shopper choice with new shops for up to three high street style retailers as well as a ‘Fresh Format’ Morrisons foodstore, bringing a new and diverse fresh food offer to Walthamstow at the affordable prices Morrisons is famous for
  
• Provide a safe and secure shoppers’ car park to serve the town centre and encourage linked trips to other shops and services in Walthamstow
